Open letter to my laptop

You beautiful doll, you great big beautiful doll!

Dear Laptop,

It’s a very strange sensation to be writing to you…about you…while using you…but anyway. I just wanted to thank you for enduring a bit of cosmetic surgery this week. Due to a…dare I say…design flaw in your construction, little bits of plastic began to splinter and GASP, break off from the edges of your keyboard. It was very disconcerting.

I asked my friend/digital guru Mike what to do. He seemed confident that the Apple Store would take could care of you AND make the repair free of charge. Now laptop, I am not usually lucky enough to get things for free. But thankfully, the good folks at the Apple Store repaired you cheerfully, swiftly and free of charge! Sound the trumpet fanfare! Let the people rejoice!

As it turned out, I only had to live without you for half a day which was both a bit unnerving and relaxing. My dependence on you is great, but honestly, I did get to spend some quality time with my moleskin journal.

Don’t look at me like that. There’s room in my life for both of you.

Anyway, if your friends ask, just tell them the summer weather always “refreshes” you. I promise I won’t tell.

Love,

Jenny
